I saw the Zeitgeist movie a few months ago and I’ve got to say that I think it’s a load of conspiracy theorist nonsense.
I can’t comment on the religion episode – I’ve no reason to believe it or otherwise but the other episode I found to be pretty weak arguments with quite large jumps in their logic. It’s also one of those “9/11 was a conspiracy by the US government” which I find very troublesome and just a distraction from the real issues involved.

Thanks for your opinion, Hammy.
I don’t think there are that many leaps of logic in the 9-11 stuff. Well, let me re-phrase that:
There are about as many leaps of logic in the ‘conspiracy’ argument, as there are in the ‘official’ explanation.
My first intuitions on this event were similar to that expressed in this movie. It was nice to see others had the same response to certain aspects of the case, such as how they could work out who was on the plane that committed the atrocity, yet they were unable to find the ringleader (bin Laden) who is continually posting videos/etc on the web….
Perhaps its just that a guy in a cave has better strategic planning than the greatest military power in the world…?
I think the purpose of the film is merely to get you to ask questions, to think critically about certain issues. I for one, am a big proponent of such approaches to current affairs.
Whilst I am always going to preach ‘go with the flow’ from the spiritual perspective, that doesn’t preclude using our rational minds to question everything that is presented to us….

It’s sad to see people propogate their own righteousness in defense of what they call their truth when they use reason to defend what they’ve only have known.
People claim to be thinkers. And if what they say is true, then we’re all fucked.
People refuse to question themselves enough and direct thought where it should be instead of detouring it away to safeguard themselves.
The world is not safe, and I say its ’cause of “these” people.
Where’s the philosophers?
